* Me - NC25/30 with mauvish pigmented lips.
* Product - Rouge Allure Laque - Dragon (75)
* Review - Let me preface this by stating that I am not a red lip gal. Never have been and until now, I never thought I would be. But lo and behold, Dragon has made me a believer! I love the formula, it doesn’t smear all over the place and it can work with our without a lip liner (I personally prefer a liner). This is very much a bold “statement red”, sexy and intense at the same time. It has the gorgeous vibrant color without the icky stickiness of a gloss. The best part is that it’s extremely long-wearing and when it does fade after hours and hours, it leaves a pretty berry stain effect. Overall, this is just perfect!
* Tip - Although this is sadly discontinued, it is still listed on the Chanel website for France and Belgium as of the date of this review. I have no problem finding Dragon in Brussels, Belgium . . . for now that is ;)
* Price - €32.50
* Verdict - This is an absolutely sophisticated and gorgeous red. Truly awe-inspiring!

I bought this because I heard that it's being discontinued. Well, I checked our Chanel counter here and she said it's still going to be available. hmmm.
Anyway, this is the perfect power red. sexy, glamorous and sophisticated. It works with my skintone. It's such a vibrant, bold color that demands attention. It lasts for hours and fades evenly on me. If I want to apply it straight from the tube, I'd mute my lip color with nude lipstick or concealer (I have pigmented lips). I use a lip brush for a lighter effect, but it's still such a sexy red, and it makes me feel special! I'd definitely re-purchase this if I could.

I am a red lipstick aficionado. I was going to a Chanel event and wanted to try something different. I had heard about the new laques and was curious. The holidays are coming soon and there is nothing as dressy and chic as a red lip. I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving before premiering my new lippie; but I could not wait. I liked the fact that it is like a stain in the staying power of the color but it has some gloss to it and it also does not feel drying on the lips. I wanted to kick it up a notch so I bought the Pirate nail polish and now I am good to go. I cannot tell you how many compliments that I received on this lip color. This is one Chanel purchase that I did not regret. I will tell you to jump on this one because Chanel is famous for discontinuing good things.

I owned this for exactly 3 days. I was looking for my perfect true red, but alas this was too blood-red for me. Completely overpowered by it. I substract one lippie because I found it slightly more difficult to work with than my other RAL in Phoenix. The latter applies evenly and small mistakes can be forgiven. Not so with the Dragon - it had to be picture perfect to be picture perfect. If you are a classic cool-toned beauty this will look great on you, if you are on the verge of cool-warm I highly recommend you try it first.

I get so many compliments while wearing this laque, I never want anything else. It's what every femme fatale needs.
I wear it with black eyeliner and a pink blush, everything else will just draw attention away from your lips. Only, because it draws so much attention I find it hard to wear during the day.
And I've seen it mentioned before, that after a meal all that is left is a line that looks like a lip liner.

Beautiful and stunning. More glamorous than a classic red in some way. It seems to work with most skin tones, but some fair skinned girls might still prefer a cherry red. The texture is so interesting, and it's like a liquid lipstick to me. You get a comfortable product with some sheen, and that keeps the color from going flat. I love the name, too. I'm sure most women who've bought it think the same. Now I'm on a mission to find a dupe, or maybe two products I can combine to make a dupe. Right now my mind is on Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Crimson, maybe with a slight shimmer added. I'm thinking of the Maybelline Pearls lipstick in Sparkling Sand. I will update once I figure it out.
Update: Chanel is going to discontinue this along with the other shades in the line of Rouge Allure Laque, so buy it while you can! If you want to wear this for the holidays, don't wait. It can take awhile for the word to get out among some Chanel SA's, and honestly, I think they need to have more meetings to stay up to date about company information.

This is the most fantastic lip product I have ever used. I bought it to wear to my graduation and cringed at the price, only to be so over the moon about its performance! You don't have to use a lot, especially considering the extremely deep, opaque nature of the color itself. I applied it once in the morning at about 9 AM and didn't have to reapply or touch up. At all. Like, at all. This was in the midst of darting from ceremony to ceremony in dry, California 95 degree heat. Dragon withstood a light lunch, drinking tons of water, then dinner at 8:30 PM and still looked good well into the late night hours. It didn't crack, didn't fade, didn't dry my lips out, and didn't waver in any respect. I cannot stress how much I love this. I want one in every color!
Aside from the actual wear, the color is a vivid, perfect blue-based red. They have a more orange based one as well, but since I'm more neutral than truly warm I opted for Dragon and clearly was not disappointed. I've since worn it out dancing and drinking and it's been consistently wonderful. I've never had any issues with it whatsoever. You DO have to be careful while putting it on, but once it's on your lips, it's there. continued >>

This was truly love at first sight. I am NC42 and I find this shade of red suits me wonderfully - although it is such a gorgeous, rich colour, I suspect it is probably universally flattering. My first red lipstick was MAC Russian Red, and while I adore that to pieces, there is something about Chanel products that exudes complete glamour, elegance and sophistication. The application is faultless and although I haven't worn this for lengthy periods (as yet), dabbing it on lightly with your ring finger makes for a beautiful, lasting stain. I couldn't make out any obvious fragrance other than the normal 'lipstick' scent. It is very pigmented, so application does take time. Packaging is wonderful. Compact but stylish, and 6ml goes a long way. This is the most I've spent on any lip product to date (I think I paid about NZ$65-75 for it?) but I do think it's well worth it.

I bought this yesterday, and I LOVE IT. A perfect deep sexy red that has now established my standard for classic, gorgeous sexy red. The shiny is beautiful, and the color payoff is intense. My lips tend to chap during the day, but I'm on hour 6, and no chapping or peeling in sight! Moisturizing and smooth texture. Will absolutely repurchase. Do wish there was a way to not get color around the lid when pulling the wand out, but that's a tiny engineering thing.

My HG red. Have been searching for the perfect red and this is it. Beautiful texture, great staying power and a little goes a long way. I use this for a night out paired with black liner on the eyes and voila, simple and chic.

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon 75 ( 0.20 fl oz or 6 ml for $32 usd) is a true vivid red color. The most beautiful red lip color in the market. Dragon will brightens any skin tones from fair to deep dark, it just an amazing red. Dragon provides a full coverage like a lipstick but comes in a semi fluid like a gloss. The texture is smooth and creamy and glides on my lip effortlessly. However, Dragon is a true red, so applying it will takes time and precise application to get the straight line around the lip. The wand of Rouge Allure Laque is a sponge tip applicator which is easy to use and apply than the bristle applicator. It comes in a rose scent that usually disappears within a few minutes of application. The longevity is AMAZING lasting on my lip through out the entire day of 6 + hours. This is after eating sushi and drinking, which Dragon still remains but with a little of the glossiness disappearing and the true red still remains. With more drinkings and eating through out the day, Dragon still has it red tint on my lip just like a lip stain. Finally, late in the night, when the color becomes a light raspberry tone with no reapplication at all. If you have to get 1 lip product from Chanel, get Dragon Rouge Allure Laque because it will brighten any complexions and it is one of the rare red lip product in the market. Plus, it is quite moisturizing on my lip. If you are a person who feel intimidating wearing a red lipstick like myself, do not let Chanel Dragon prevents you from purchasing it because you will be love this color and it does look AMAZING on all complexions.

It has been hard for me to find the right shade of red for my warm, yellow skintone. We all know that you can't just wear any red (well, for me anyway haha). This is the ULTIMATE, the BEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL red lip color I have ever come across. It's lush, it's....just..amazing. The tone of this red really complements my NC30, MUFE HD 127, CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua B30 skin really well. I like to apply it with a lip brush for the most color, or you can apply it with your finger for more of a "stain". The packaging is gorgeous and stylish. LOVE. It's worth the price, I would definitely buy it again if I ran out. It's so HG that I have ended my search for a red lipstick because I"m completely satisfied with this one.

This is my favourite red for a night on the town. The only downside is that you really need to take your time to get the application right because it is really easy to mess up your lip line. For that reason only it is my special occasion red purely because I don't have enough time in the morning to give it the attention it deserves! I prefer the "normal" chanel red lipsticks for day time - rough coco in gabrielle for summer and allure in fatale for winter.

This is a beautiful true red with a fine gold micro glitter. It's a lipstick and gloss in one, opaque and has staying power. This is a red that almost anyone can wear. For the price it's pretty expensive but makes a great special occasion color.

Love this color and this formula. I have no regrets about my purchase. It's a gorgeous shade of red and would look lovely on many skin tones.

I finally bought it after years of trying it on my hand...
Just a small amount is needed to make my lips vixen red.

Absolutely love this lipstick/gloss. The color is great and it stays a long time. The only downside to this lipstick is that it's really red and a bit too much for a day at the office. I choose to wear it more for a night out or when not working and a in need of "burst" of color in my day. Everything is always better with a new lipstick right? This red is one that will look good on all skin tones.
I would purchase it again but I don't think I will have to for a while since I don't wear it every day.
The packaging is what can be expected from Chanel. Beautiful and classy. The only downside is that it will show fingerprints but nothing a little wipe can't take care of.
When I wear this lipstick I make sure I have a q-tip in my make-up bag just so I can touch up the corners and the edges of my lips when going to the powder-room.
I can't say enough good things about it.

Yes, this is the most beautiful and rich looking deep red lippie that I have ever tried. When I put it on, my lips look so luscious and beautiful. BUT, it's just too rich and luscious to wear to the office and I can't justify paying $34 for a lippie that I may wear occasionally:(
FYI-I'm Asian NC30 w/yellow undertones.

Seriously high-quality product! I couldn't understand the price (SG$49) for a lip gloss and i honestly bit the bullet even when paying up at the cashier. The price actually made me hesitate for a year before buying. But in the end i gave in, because Dragon's color is really one of a kind.
Before i start talking about color, i have to finish my testimonial about the quality of this product. After i finally bought it, i understood the price. This is not just a lip gloss, lip lacquer, or whatever you might call it. It's a lipstick, a lip stain, and a lip gloss all in one.
You see, this is how it works. This is what i do. I dab one dot (yes, it's enuff!) with the doe-footed applicator in the center of my mouth and purse my lips and spread it all around. Without blotting, it gives a opaque high-shine like a pigmented lipstick with lipgloss on it. If i blot once, it looks like a pigmented satin lipstick. If i blot twice, it looks like a sheer dash of lipstick. If i blot three times and more, it gives a stained effect, which looks like i just sucked on a popsicle, or Prince Charming just kissed my Snow White ruby lips. This makes me wanna toss out all other 12695434 lipstains in my drawer which never worked.
It was really more easy to use than i expected. I am used to the precise application of lipsticks and the doe-footed applicator plus pigmented creamy gloss got me really befuddled before i bought it, but i'm glad i finally understood how it works. I am not a sucker for Chanel or high-end products (i do love Chanel but Rouge Coco was a rip-off, crap drying formula and leaves a scary ring around my lips after eating) but Rouge Allure Laque is one product worth its price. And, also one of the major points why you should consider this product is that is the lasting power which knocks Rouge Coco out of the water. Unbelievable for a slippery gloss product right? But it's true.
FInally, on to the color. If you analyse the color on the applicator or as a swatch on your hand, you'll see a very dark berry red, almost goth, but this is not the case when you blend it onto the lips. It's alot lighter and wearable than it looks but at the same time, it's definitely not frivolous or screaming or neon. This is a full-bodied and mature true red without any annoying magenta/fuschia/pink traces. At the same time, it does not contain any orange or brown. You can never tell such things when looking at a lip product as it is so what you should do is to swatch and then sheer it out well and investigate under good light. This is the way to detect its undertones.
In conclusion, this is really the kind of true, deep red (without going oldly, goth, or overly bright) that every discerning fan of red lipstick MUST own in their lip wardrobe. Thank you, Chanel, for spending that much effort in perfecting this unique color "Dragon".
